I moved into my apartment in July of 2020. Writing this review in November 2020. From day one i experienced issues but I knew someone who lived in the building and she assured me the building was a good building so i tried not to worry. The day I was supposed to move in I got a call saying someone had left “a window open or something” the night before and the rain had caused the carpets to get wet. I was told I would have to wait until the next day to move in. I was frustrated because I had paid for movers to move my things that day, but luckily the company had no problem rescheduling to move that weekend. I came in the following day and there were fans all over the apartment. I was told someone would be up to get them before the day was over. I was concerned about my electric bill because I didn’t know how much power the 3 fans used but I assumed a lot to dry the carpet. I asked about that and the question was basically ignored. But I was eager to move in and didnt want to worry about every minor thing. From July until now here is a list of every problem or just issue I’ve had Nothing is online. That sucks for me. You can’t pay rent online, or request maintenance. Not a deal breaker just a little annoying. I attempted to have my movers come on the weekend and was told that i can only move my things into my home on Monday - Friday while the office is open. Stressful!!! One night it rained and the elevator stopped working. I attempted to use the steps and they were locked! All of the residents talked about how the building is unsafe in case of emergency and i live on the highest floor!! Asked the office about it and was just told that that issue shouldn’t happen again. I asked what would i do in emergency and wasn’t answered Master Bedroom A/C stopped working needed to be replaced. 2nd bedroom a/c leaked soaked the floors of half of the apartment damaging some of my things and needing 3 fans and two DE-humidifiers to be on for 5 days. once again no answer about electric bill. Microwave needed to be replaced. No screen in window. Pest control called due to initial sighting of many many Roach shells. ( none have been seen since) Dishwasher racks still broken. Bathtub never re-glazed Was told that the second bedroom was supposed to be repainted according to maintenance man because he said it was a “bad rush job” however no one ever came. Package was set on the floor in lobby instead of delivered to door. I was 41 weeks pregnant at the time and asked if a maintenance man could bring it up since it was left. Was told no, and told that if i didn’t come and get the package and someone else took it they aren’t responsible. ( not upset about this just felt that looking at me and my situation and the fact that i was always polite they would help a little bit accepted that they didn’t” I have emailed the manager of property twice and called and still have no response on when they will come to fix second bedroom a/c so it no longer leaks every time it rains which wets up my entire floor. I attempted to go down to see her and was told I had to call because of covid. I called and was told she would call back. Called Edgewood management and never received a return call. Despite all these issues I normally don’t get upset or press the issue with anything. I try to always remain respectful and polite. The wet carpet from the rain damaged some things in my apartment so I feel the need to press that issue, and not getting timely responses prompted me to leave a review. The maintenance men are super cool & nice. So if i catch one in the hall or in the lobby they’ll come up most of the time but even with them coming up most of the time a lot of things still haven’t been addressed. At this point all i care about is not having the carpet wet again. UPDATE: got a call from the manager. Says she must’ve overlooked a part of my email and that she will send maintenance men up to get a/c looked at this week. So hopefully that gets fixed.
